Alliance Française Halifax with the support of the French Embassy in Canada and in collaboration with Université Sainte-Anne, NSLTA, NSTU and the Dalhousie University is pleased to invite you to three conferences on bi-plurilingualism and interculturality. The goal of this day is to inform, to learn and to understand today’s linguistic world.

Specialists from Canada and France will give three diverse workshops on bi-plurilingualism in Canada and around the world:

  • 11h00 (ADT): Definition and presentation of bi-plurilingualism – Judith Patouma (Université Sainte-Anne, N-E) – In French
  • 13h30 (ADT): Cognitive Consequences of Bilingualism – Ellen Bialystok (York University, Ontario) – In English
  • 15h30 (ADT): Literary representations of bi-plurilingualism – Stéphane Bikialo (Université de Poitiers, France) – In French

Teachers, experts, parents, multilinguals and monolinguals, as well as anyone interested in linguistic and cultural issues are invited to join us on this sharing and learning day.

The 2nd part of this conference will take place on November 25 in partnership with Alliance Française Ottawa (Stay tuned for more information!)
